35 BEFORE 35 is my mission to complete 35 physical challenges before my 35th birthday all in aid of charity – Leeds MIND and Yorkshire Cancer Research. While I’m working my way through these challenges, not only do I want to raise A LOT of money, but I also want to show that with a healthy mind and body, you really can achieve anything you put your mind to. Remember, even Mo Farrah had to start somewhere!

“Everything you want is on the other side of fear.”

George Addair

I know there are a lot of ’30 before 30′-style bucket lists out there, but here’s where 35 BEFORE 35 is different – I want to do something that really pushes my boundaries physically as well as mentally while raising money for charity.

I have definitely neglected my mental health over my physical health recently and I can’t stress enough how important it is to check in with yourself on a regular basis.

So in doing this and almost exposing the way my mind works with you all, I hope to inspire and help anyone out there who may be feeling a bit low or lost at the same time.

CHALLENGE 23

So, once we’ve cycled Mont Ventoux in France, we’ll be heading on another road trip and making our way down to Spain to cycle up another mountain! Unfortunately, time will be against us. I only have one week to head from Yorkshire, to Dover, down to Ventoux in France,...

CHALLENGE 22

I was lucky enough to cycle up the Stelvio Pass (officially the third highest mountain in the Alps at 2,757m) in August 2016 with my family. It was a hot day but after passing more than 40 odd hairpin bends mixed with the lack of air the higher we got, we made it to...

CHALLENGE 21

Am I wondering what I’ve got myself into? Yes. Am I petrified? Hell YES! However, it wouldn’t be a 35 Before 35 challenge if I wasn’t about to jump SO FAR out of my comfort zone now would it?! The only other challenge I’ve felt THIS nervous before a challenge was the...

CHALLENGE 20

This is my first retrospective challenge announcement! There’s just not enough time in the day sometimes! Challenge 20 saw my Mum, Dad and I drive over to a lovely cottage just outside of Carlisle on Good Friday, which would become our base over the next three days....

Now, if any of you have been on my website and read my ramblings, you’ll know I’ve completed seven marathons already. So, you may be thinking where’s the challenge in this? Well....for me, every marathon is all about the journey of each training cycle. Thinking back...

Seven challenges down

I can’t believe I’m seven challenges down, having raised just under £400 already! Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me and donated so far. I really couldn’t be doing any of this without you all. You all know who you are, so thank you from the bottom of...

It’s time to be short!

“She can’t be a runner, look at her legs”. What I perceive other people saying about my marathon legs. Well, enough is enough! Join me and embrace what you may think your ‘imperfections’ are. Our legs do a pretty damn good job at what they do, it’s time to cut them some slack!

Why do I do it?

Hours and hours of training you say? Well yes, I’m not going to lie. Challenging yourself to something new will inevitably take up a lot of your time as you’ll be busy training and juggling life…
